Overview[]

The Nuclear Silo, also known simply as Silo or Nuke Silo, is a researchable production building that carries over from the original game, The Conquerors. It's the most expensive building in the game, having a price of 100$ to research, followed by an extra of 675$ in order to build. It's also the building that takes the longest time to make, taking 20 minutes in order to research with only one Research Center, 4 minutes to build and 5 minutes to produce a Nuke.

Usage[]

The Nuclear Silo is used to produce Nuclear Missiles or Fire Missiles. In the late game, it can be a very powerful building due to the fact that nuking your opponent's base and army can mean the difference between a win and a loss. Nuclear Missiles are unlocked as soon as the Silo research ends, however Fire Missiles have their own research, which gets unlocked after the Silo research is completed.

The Silo can only hold one nuke a time, meaning that if one Nuke was already produced but hasn't been launched yet, it won't produce another nuke. For steps on how to launch a Nuke, check the Nuclear Missile usage section.

Strategy[]

  • Silos don't have any defense, and they also have very low health. This means they are very vulnerable buildings. Because of this, it is recommended to build it within a highly defended area, such as your base or a major military outpost. Lots of players think that hiding it in a corner or behind a hill is a good strategy, however if their opponent knows how to utilise the Mini Map, or is just good at looking around, then the hiding strategy completely fails.
  • When firing nukes, it's usually better to strike them in bases or immobile armies. If your enemies are smart enough to see the radar, know you have a nuke or if they saw you have a silo, they're probably going to move their armies around or even make gaps in their bases to stop Fire Nukes. Timing for nukes is always needed, and you'll get it the more you use them.
  • If possible, launching 2 or 3 nukes with your allies can completely obliterate your enemy's base and their whole army. However, this is an incredibly risky strategy, as it will mean you all have to spend a lot of money on research and building.

Trivia[]
